Open Position: Senior Accountant

Millburn seeks an experienced Senior Accountant to work in the Accounting Department of its New York office. The Senior Accountant is an intelligent and detail-oriented individual who can help the team improve on a range of Accounting functions and processes.
Nature and Scope of Responsibilities:
Responsible for all facets of preparing the month-end and year-end accounting closes for the management companies and hedge fund of funds
Prepare annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP
Coordinate with auditors on year-end financial statements
Maintain the general ledger for Millburn and affiliated entities
Prepare various financial statements
Prepare various account analysis
Review books and records for three charitable foundations
Prepare daily management reporting, reconcile cash and positions for Millburn’s equity funds
Prepare tax allocations for Millburn’s equity funds
Assist Fund of Funds Manager with data analysis and other projects as needed
Qualifications / Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting with strong GPA
CPA, or parts passed, a plus
One to two years’ experience working in a public accounting firm
One to two years of hedge fund accounting experience a plus
Experience with Great Plains, Total Return, and Quickbooks a plus
Excellent attention to detail and highly organized
Superior analytical and problem solving skills; and ability to make intelligent recommendations
Have clear and effective written and verbal communication skills
Ability to quickly learn new systems and automate manual processes
Advance Excel and spreadsheet skills
Ability to coordinate more complex accounting projects and initiatives with other members of the accounting team or with other departments
